Tiyul Peula for Svatim

-Gage where svatim are at physically and emotionally in terms of tiyul in order to…..
-To get tzevet to a place where they feel comfy and hyped about tiyul

Method: Read chinuchy stuff about tiyul:

The tiyul is a significant tool we have as a youth movement. Through the tiyul we create
an educational space, where the capabilities and skills of the chanichimot are reflected and
magnified.
Tiyul reinforces the relationship of the chanichol with the nature, the earth, with their kvutza and
themselves, as they face challenges that only being in nature allows.

Three primary objectives of the tiyul:


1. Strengthening the the kvutza.
2. Connection to nature and simplicity.
3. Connecting the tiyul to an added value - can be derived from the tochnit chinuch or
anything else that the tzevet katan see fit to promote.

Additional objectives:

Methodological: reading a basic map, and understanding principles of hadracha in a


tiyul (ie get kids to drink water, lead the hike, teach kids how to make a rainshelter)

social struggles: strengthen ties to tzevet and chanichimot by jointly coping with
challenges;
Environmental education: ​The chanichol will familiarize with the area of the tiyul on various
aspects: nature, population, geology, history and so on.
​tzevet will plan environmental education through topics of their choice
I assume that the madrichimot have different levels of experience in leading a tiyul, and
the responsibility involved in it. It is my responsibility to explain the significance of the tiyul and
the message that the tiyul is complicated and requires preparation and attention. The tiyul is not
just walking from place to place, but a tool for transferring knowledge and values.
Remember that the ultimate goal of the tiyul is for the madrichimot and chanichimot to feel safe
and to use the tiyul as a key tool that will help them lead a group process.

Method:
Explain- With this in mind, we are going to do a post it method
Questions on sheets of paper-
- What is a positive tiyul experience I’ve had in the past
- A negative one
- My overall sentiments about tiyul
- What is most challenging for me about tiyul
- What are things I feel most comfortable with on tiyul?
- Where/ how can I be best supported on tiyul
Have tzevet return to maagal, then read out loud to eachother each sheet of paper with postits on
it the responses.

Sicha: What are ways this tzevet needs to be supported on tiyul? Anything your chanis may need
prior to tiyul? (ie skills time, more info, a peula, etc) .
Explain my role as a support for tzvatim running their own tiyulim.

Logistics:
Go over luz with svatim, and shape together.
-Remind svatim to make ohelim, give #’s for that
-Inform of GGC and date, maybe they want to make tiyul ohelim prior to this, and have chanis
GGC each ohel based on actual ohel they will be with??

Tasks for each tzevet post meeting:


-Decide on the chinuch theme for the tiyul, should be related to the nature in the site you are at!
(make a vaad, to plan, and Katrina can serve as extra hands).
-plan some games to play on the hike, (maybe even a dance party with a speaker!)

Remember - accidents don’t just happen, they are being caused.


● chanichimot should wear a hat and sunscreen and drink water even if the sun is blazing.
● Do not walk around barefoot, in the parking area or at any stage of the trip.
● We're going as a group, and don’t stray off the trails.
● There should be a madrichol at the lead and at the end of each kvutza.
● General sanitation when preparing food or eating: strict hand washing before eating and
eating with clean dishes.
● Make sure we leave the places where we walked and slept clean.
● don’t harm wildlife, plants and the inanimate.
● Do not leave equipment lying around; be mindful of racoons! Leave all food in vehicles at
night.
