for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
INTRODUCTION
This Study attempts to investigate the
impact of digital transformation for small and
medium-sized enterprises with a focus on
helping businesses grow and improve the sales
performance by leveraging technology and
digital commerce. In response to these evolving
consumer practices, trade itself is undergoing a
massive transformation as companies seek
digital solutions to improve sales, acquire new
customers and reduce costs. In conclusion, to
ensure the continuity of life, development and
real commercial success, organizations must
keep up with emerging trends, take advantage
of the consumer mind, understand new markets
and take advantage of the talent and technology
available. Gone are the days of the company's
rigid values, antiquated systems, administrative
silos and gaps in the digital skills gap. The time
has now come for global organizations to lead
the way and invest in a well-equipped dedicated
digital conversion to secure their future place.
RESEARCH BACKGROUND
In studies, there is much researchers
conducted on the digital transformation of small
and medium-sized enterprises, which focus in
general on the benefit of the digitization on
SMEs. Beside this, there are many researches
done on Sales performance for SMEs. However,
it seems there is no research done or published
on examining the impact of digital
transformation for SMEs on Sales performance.
WHAT IS THE RESEARCH ISSUE?
The fact is that the world has
become digitized, but many companies are
not ready. Do not translate their existing
techniques, skills, and processes into a
digital world. The modern company must
transform itself to adapt to the technology
and processes required in today's digital
world to get the benefit of increasing
profits.
Those organizations that invest in new
technologies, people, and processes to
compete in digital markets realize
business-level returns including market
share, greater margins and profits, talent,
among others.

AND WHY NOW?
The pace of change in digital
transformation is exponential. There are
new ways to deal with customers, more
innovation in the workforce and more
opportunities to harness data insights as
just a few of the benefits of digital
transformation, all of which tend to
increase sales and profits.
The Cisco study estimates that by next
year, there will be 20.6 billion network
devices around the world. 50% of these
mobile devices will be connected,
contributing to a massive 800% growth in
mobile data between now and 2020.
Now more than ever, whatever the
company's vision for the future, it must
include digital conversion in order to
grow and compete effectively.
HOW AND WHEN IS IT GOING
TO BE INVESTIGATED?
This research is to study the
impact on sales performance for small
and medium-sized Enterprises through
digital transformation. And the research
will be investigated through a
questionnaire survey supported with a
poll, will be published on public social
media with paid ads to reach a minimum
of 50 participants in Malaysia.
WHAT COULD THIS RESEARCH SHED
LIGHT ON?
This research could be the first to motivate
the old traditional small and medium-sized
enterprises owners and employees to digitize their

the knowledge of the author and researcher. In
addition, the managers will know how digital
marketing is better than offline marketing and the
eCommerce platforms with digital payment open
new sales channels, also owning a digital platform
got several advantages such as customer satisfaction.
Therefore, this research will help the SMEs with their
development process.
