TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO

WHEREAS The need for a Women’s Residential Addiction Treatment Centre in Renfrew
County has been clearly evidenced for a long time; and
WHEREAS the discussions to bring such a facility to Renfrew County have been on going since
1987; and
WHEREAS over a recent 18 month period 160 women were referred out of the County for
Addiction Treatment; and
WHEREAS this is clearly unacceptable.

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, PETITION THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF

ONTARIO AS FOLLOWS:
That the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care enter into an agreement to establish a
Women’s Residential Addiction Treatment Centre in Renfrew County and direct the Champlain
LHIN to fund this project.
