ABSTRACT

This study discusses the compound sentences of the language of criminal

law, especially the criminal law of Law Number 11 Year 2012 on the Criminal
Justice System of Children. Compound sentences of the legal language of the
child criminal justice system are analyzed in terms of syntax. There are three
problem formulations discussed in this study, namely (1) the types of compound
sentences used in the law of the criminal justice system of children; (2)
characteristics of multiple sentences used in the law of the criminal justice system;
and (3) the interconnected meaning of multiple sentence phrases used in the laws
of the criminal justice system.

This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data were

collected using the method of recall and technique of record. The source of this
research data is Law Number 11 Year 2012 on the Criminal Justice System of
Children which is recorded in the book of Himpunan Peraturan Perundang-
Undangan Republik Indonesia: Undang-Undang Perlindungan Anak (Undang-
Undang RI Nomor 35 Tahun 2014 tentang Perubahan Atas Undang-Undang RI
Nomor 23 Tahun 2002 Tentang Perlindungan Anak) published by Bhuana Ilmu
Populer Kelompok Gramedia. This research data is limited to compound
sentences in every article of the criminal justice system law.

From the results of the study, it was found that the types of compound
sentences used in the laws of the criminal justice system are equivalent compound
sentences and multi-layered sentences. Characteristics of compound sentences of
the criminal justice system of children, among others (1) implicit meaning; (2) the
structure of the sentence is reversed; and (3) have a specific meaningful
conjunction. The relationship of intercellular meanings that arises, that is sum;
election; sum / election; resistance; content; lighting; time; hope; way; terms;
because; effect; exceptions; and usability.
