DELAWARE HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES To whom it may concern, ‘My name is Richard Huber and | am the Volunteer/Internship Coordinator with the Delaware Division for the Visually Impaired. | have been co-supervising the internship of Ms. Carole King-Ries for over three ‘months. During her time with the Division for the Visually Impaired, Carol has served countless hours and has proven to be an asset in helping improve the programs, polices, and work flow at the Delaware Division for the Visually Impaired, |/am writing you today in the hopes that you will consider Ms. King-Ries as a prospective candidate within your organization. Certain individuals have qualities that make them stand out and shine from the rest, Carol is that kind of person. At the Delaware Division for the Visually impaired, she is known for her intense work ethic, outgoing personality, and take charge attitude. With every project assigned, | /e and motivated leader with amazing future potential. have known Carol to be a po: During Carol's time with the agency, she has done a terrific job by working endless hours to learn the processes needed in running an effective volunteer program. She even researched several techniques ‘on how to interview, recruit and maintain a stronger volunteer base. In addition she worked closely with ‘our agency directors in developing a parent advocacy group for the education program. Carol was able to speak with parents of the served students and help gain a better understanding of what is needed by the division for our students. She also took time in developing beneficial programs such as the “Do You Dream in Color” movie screening for an agency wide viewing. Finally, each week, Carol met with all of the agency departments to gain more knowledge of what each unit does and how they work with and improve the quality of life for the blind/visually impaired.
