In our group project, we will used the chapter one that we have learned which is
random variables. There are two types of random variable which is probability distribution
function and cumulative distribution function. In additions of this probability, we will find
the mean, variance and standard deviation of the distributions. Random variable also noun as
statistics which mean a quantity that takes any of a set of values with specified probabilities.
Statistics also mean as a quantity that may take any of a range of values, either continuous or
discrete, which cannot be predicted with certainty but only described probabilistically.

We also use the chapter two which is about probability. In probability, there are
several terms that we used which is a random experiment which mean a process leading to at
least two possible outcomes with uncertainty as to which they will occur. Second, basic
outcomes which mean the possible outcomes of a random experiment and lastly, sample
space which mean the set of all the outcome that we have taken (denoted by S).

Lastly, we are using the chapter ANOVA which means analysis of variance. ANOVA
is a hypothesis testing technique use to test the equality of two or more population means by
examining the variances of samples that are taken. It is a parametric test. Parametric test are
those that make assumptions about the parameters of the population distribution from which
the sample is drawn. It is used to determine whether the differences between the samples are
simply due to random error or there are systematic treatment effects that causes the mean in
one group to differ from the mean in another. This is achieved by calculating the 𝐹-ratio.

In our project, the objective is to determine the gender of the driver and the speed rate
of the vehicle in two different range of time.

Scope of our study is targeting the vehicles that enter the main gate and pass through
in front of UTHM stadium. We choose this area because it is the main road for student and
staff to go anywhere in Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. 50 random samples was
collected in 2 different times which is from 8am-8.30am and 12pm-12.30pm. The sample
then we compared. We observed the gender and the speed of each vehicle. The speed limit
when you driving in UTHM should be 40km/hour.
