INTRODUCTION

In Nepal, tourism can be one of the power boosting business and source for
raising the economic status of people, society and country as a whole. Although, some
people in Nepal have realized this fact and have made their efforts to increase and up lift
tourism business up to certain extent, yet the current success in tourism development is
not satisfactory. One of the major reason for this cause is the lack of interest and
awareness among the citizens of Nepal, about the heavy benefits and comforts that could
be gained by them through tourism. Another important reason is that, both the
government sectors as well as the private/public sectors have made least efforts/attempts
to develop programs, through which they can spread the fact that Nepal is the ultimate
itinerary for tourist in the whole world and also attract lots and lots of tourist to visit
Nepal.

On the contrary, there are various places and things, which could be visited and
observed by the tourist in Nepal. Among these, the Bhaktapur City well known as the
“Town of Devotees” is one of the popular tourist itinerary. Although Mount Everest i.e.
Sagarmatha is breathtaking and the landscape of Lord Buddha mysterious, tourists
visiting Nepal still don't feel their sojourn complete unless they have experienced
Bhaktapur, Nepal's ancient "City of Culture".

Thus, to spread this fact and create awareness among the citizens of Nepal as well
as to provide the valuable information about the Bhaktapur City, from tourism point of
view, not only to the citizens but also to the tourist of whole world, we have tried to make
an effort. So, we have developed a website named "www.namastebhaktapur.com", which
could be used by any person, anywhere from the world to gain their knowledge regarding
the Nepal’s ancient Bhaktapur City.
OBJECTIVES

1. To develop a website named "www.namastebhaktapur.com".

2. To spread the fact that Nepal’s ancient Bhaktapur City is one of the ultimate
tourist itinerary, to the tourist of whole world as well as the citizens of Nepal.

3. To explore the Traditional art and architecture, pottery and weaving industries,
rich local customs and culture and the every-day life of Bhaktapur people.

4. To research about the citizens of Bhaktapur City that is the Newars, their
occupation, religion, celebrated festivals and other important aspects.

5. To increase interest and create awareness among the citizens of Nepal, about the
heavy benefits and comforts that could be gained by them through tourism.

6. One of the other objectives of this project is to explore the properties and
environment of JavaScript Programming Language and Hyper Text Markup
Language (HTML) as well as to be familiarized with its practical application and
commanding functions.

7. One can also improve his/her knowledge on Hyper Text Markup Language and
JavaScript Programming Language through the available source code of the website
and use it as a reference purpose for developing similar websites.

LIMITATIONS OF PROJECT & FUTURE ENHANCEMENT

1. The website may not be complete in itself as it might have lacked to cover some
other important aspects of Bhaktapur City.

2. The website could not cover descriptions of few things such as the reconstruction
program, being carried out by the Bhaktapur Municipality.

3. The website could not include the complete information about the typical Newari
lifestyle and their fabulous culture.

4. Due to the limitations and short comings of the group members, the developed
website might not have met the total objectives of the project.

5. Only few cascade style sheets is used in the project and it also lack dynamic
pictures. So it might not be highly attractive.

Regarding the future enhancement, the first thing that can be done is the removal
of above limitations or its reduction up to certain extent. The next thing that can be done
for the enhancement of the website is to remove the lacing things and add more and more
information from the objectives view point. In addition, motion pictures and more
cascade style sheets can be used to attract more tourists. For safety and to prevent the
user from source code, coding of the website can be translated into PHP coding and so
on.
CONCLUSION

We have expected that this project work will definitely help not only the tourist but also
the local people who seek information about the Bhaktapur City. This project will help
them increase their knowledge about the Bhaktapur City, its Traditional art and
architecture, pottery and weaving industries, rich local customs and culture, religion,
occupation, celebrated festivals and the every-day life of Bhaktapur people. On
continuing with the available source code of the website, one can also improve their
knowledge on Hyper Text Markup Language and JavaScript Programming Language.
