As population increases from year to year, caused increasing the volume of waste offset by reduced

waste management leads to negative health and environmental impacts. Many waste management
systems and methods that have been implemented and planned by the Government include the 3R
method (reduce, reuse and recycle) as an approach to zero waste conditions. This is a challenge for
the government and the community, because the more social economic activities and the culture
activities, within more energy consumed the more waste would produce. Gianyar regency as one of
the tourism sector in Bali, not apart from the negative impact. Efforts to control waste management
from household cannot be separated from internal and external factors. Therefore, this study aims to
determine the factors - factors that influence the behavior of communities in managing household
waste in the area of Tourism Area Village Singapadu.

This research uses quantitative method with cross sectional descriptive research design because this
research aims to describe the process of waste management, digging information, calculating the
waste generation and composition also planning the economic value of waste management. This
research was conducted in 6 banjar, 27 for total sample for garbage composition at 5 samples each
banjar in Singapadu Village. The method used in the taking is by using simple random sampling.
Researchers selected as many as 95 respondents randomly with one person for each household in
household waste management in Singapadu Village.

The results of this study indicate the average household waste produced as much as 0.46 kg / person
/ day, consisting of 41.4% organic waste, 15.2% plastic waste, 6.02% paper waste, 0.15% Zinc and
other waste by 0.9%. Household waste management in the Tourism Area of Singapadu Village has not
been done optimally. In terms of age, education, income, employment and attitude positively
correlated with household waste management behavior. Suggestions given include growing
community involvement with motivation and education, increased communication across sectors, as
well as the application of waste regulations explicitly.
