Introduction
This lab has been done to observe and find out how the
components in a mixture can be separated from each
other by the Thin-layer chromatography technique, which
is a simple, quick, and inexpensive procedure. This
procedure may be performed on the analytical scale as a
means of monitoring the progress of a reaction, or on the
preparative scale to purify small amounts of a compound.

Materials and methods

 Silufol and capillary
 Marker
 Moving phase
 Developing Chamber
 Source of heat

Methods
laying bottles and packaging them |activate plate with
heating from 80-100c | apply on silufol plate | dry on 60-
70c | repeat the procedure 2-3 times and to be sure that
the sample is dry before repeating the producer | pour
the contents into the developing chamber | place the
plate and cover the container
Results
The molecular components were separated from each
other after applying this producer, the separation of the
components depends on the affinity of the components
towards stationary and mobile phases, during this
movement, the compounds with higher affinity to
stationary phase travel slowly while the others travel
faster. However, the results we got was not the
expected results.
Discussion
The results we got were not as the expected results from
this experiment, and that is because we did not apply the
sample on the silufol plate in a horizontal way so that is
why our results were not as same as the expected
results.
Conclusion
We distinguished how the components in a mixture were
separated from each other due to their affinities to the
mobile and the stationary phases, and we understood
how to apply the sample on the silufol plate in the
proper way _ we understood our mistake _
