Good Morning, Thank you Chair and fellow delegates,

The delegate from Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela would like to say thank you for give us
opportunity to be a part of this conference to discuss about the elimination of Trade
Remedies on Agriculture.

Venezuela believes that the Trade Remedies policy is needed by some countries that become
a victims of the unfair free trade. Trade Remedies are used to reconstruct the economical
sector of critical nations. Many countries are prioritizing the agricultural sector, especially
developing countries. Agricultural policy is vital for violations and adverse policies such as
dumping and subsidies. World Trade Organization as an organization that regulates the
smoothness and fairness of free trade is certainly obliged to provide policies to protect the
country from inapropriation actions.

So, Venezuela doest not agree about the elimination of Trade Remedies on Agriculture,
Venezuela is looking forward to disscus in this conference and for the support of World
Trade Organization members to be coorperated for the solution to this issue, Thank you.

Honorable chair and fellow delegates.

Thank you for give the Federal Republic of Nigeria the opportunity to be a part of this
conference.

Nigeria believe that the general elimination of the quantitative restrictions is needed by some
countries in the world. As we know, quantitative restrictions usually used as the basis of the
economic policies in several countries to protect the trade and investment in the international
trade, and this is happened in Nigeria. In the developing countries, the quantitative
restrictions give big influence in the local trade and investment of the countries. The
prohibition of the quantitative restrictions actually makes the trade and investment hampered
in our country.

So that, Nigeria believes that the quantitative restrictions is better to be eliminated partly, and
some points also need to be revised. Nigeria is looking forward to discussing this and for the
support of WTO members to be cooperated for the solution to this issue. Thank you.
