1. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING?

We don’t have specialization in our curriculum, but I will answer your question since we covered
up all the specializations of civil engineering. Structural engineering is branch of civil engineering
that involves designing of engineering structures such as buildings, bridges , tunnels etc. to resist
forces they would be subjected to natural disasters like eartquakes, typhoons. And that’s one
thing I wanted to do.
2. ARE THERE EXTERNAL FORCES THAT LEAD YOU TO CHOOSING THIS SPECIALIZATION?
I’ve been curious on how buildings are designed and constructed and that’s one thing that lead
me in choosing civil engineering.
3. WHAT IT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING COMPARED TO OTHER
SPECIALIZATION?
The difference is that, Structural engineering focuses on the framework of a structures and
designing those structures to resist forces of their environment and remain safe, stable and
secure throughout their use.
4. ON A LESSON STAND POINT, WHAT IS THE UNIQUENESS OF STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING?
Uniqueness of structural engineering is (as I said ) you design structures in your own creative
way, designing it to be safe, stable, secure and economical.

5. WHAT ARE THE NECESSARY SKILLS TO UNDERTAKE STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING?
