DUTY TO PRESERVE CULTURE Monno Ceramics factory is located in Dhamrai where the local Pottery Industry was once renowned in Bangladesh but in the era modernization this prominence has faded. There are several pottery villages in Dhamrai, such as Kagozi Para (Pathantola), Shimulia Paal Para, Notun Bondor Paal Para. Paal Paara refers to the pottery villages of Dhamrai, Once Dhamrai used to be a craft village but now other occupations have reduced handicraft based jobs. Most of the artisans are leaving their profession and taking up other occupations to accommodate their livelihood, Though the number is decreasing at a drastic rate, there are still talented artisans left to continue the age-old profession of creation, Monno Ceramic and RED will aim to bring back the soul of pottery handicrafts in Dhamrai by promoting the last few artisans left. The RED initiative will give potters the means to remain in this profession, sustain their livelihood and not let modernization erode the culture Dhamrai was once known for. By aiming to highlight their product on an international level, protecting their income and social welfare we hope artisans continue to keep doing what they love.
