Brazilian Steak Marinade

 4 garlic cloves, minced


 1 tsp. (5 mL) freshly ground pepper*
 1 tsp. (5 mL) ground cumin*
 1 bay leaf*, broken in two
 ½ tsp. (2 mL) salt
 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) paprika*
 2 tsp. (10 mL) cayenne pepper*
 ¼ cup (60 mL) I extra virgin olive oil*
 ¼ cup (60 mL) robust red wine
 ¼ cup (60 mL) red wine vinegar*
