TNB Tariff Change from C1 to C3 Study

Problem Statement
The OPTR scheme is offered by TNB to tariff C1 (UTM is using) and E1 who are not enjoying off-peak usage
tariff rates. This scheme started since February 2002 but UTM never apply for it to enjoy the 20% discount on
electricity usage during off-peak hours (10.00 pm to 8.00 am) every day. So, this project will look into this issue
in order for UTM to enjoy this discount.
Project Description
The project will study on determining the correct UTM’s Electrical bill tariff :
C1 OPTR (current)
 MD charges RM25.90/kW/month
 Peak rate of RM0.312/kWh
 Off-peak rate of RM0.2496/kWh
C3 (Initial proposal by TNB)
 MD charges RM37.30/kW/month
 Peak rate of RM0.295/kWh
 Off-peak rate of RM0.1776/kWh
C3 (UTM negotiate with TNB)
 MD charges RM25.03/kW/month
 Peak rate of RM0.295/kWh
 Off-peak rate of RM0.236/kWh
Project Scope
To collect and analyze TNB’s kWh consumption data and identified the technical requirement from the report.
