Second lab report expectations

Lab report #2 should follow the same format as for lab report #1. I would like to see you
spend more time writing about your results and discussion part. Make the Materials & Methods
very brief. Try to incorporate the following details in the appropriate sections

Cell Freezing/Thawing

The need to freeze cells

Cell freezing procedure
Discuss the results of thawing of cells
Did you observe any difference between the rate of survival of thawed cells between the
cells frozen in freezing media containing 10% DMSO and no DMSO? Discuss the
significance of the results.

C2C12 differentiation

What are C2C12 cells?

What drives the differentiation of C2C12 cells
What changes do they undergo as they switch from a proliferative to a differentiating stage?
What morphological changes did you observe?
Discuss your results and observations

PDL study

Significance of Hayflick’s limit

Differentiate between cell passaging and cell ageing
Why is population doubling rate more important than cell passaging in the context of tissue and
organ engineering
Your results, discussion
Include a chart that compares the proliferation rate in the three treatments
