Information about optical instruments.

Spaltelampe med kamera: The slit lamp is an instrument consisting of a high-

intensity light source that can be focused to shine a thin sheet of light into the eye.
It is used in conjunction with a biomicroscope. The lamp facilitates an examination
of the front part, or frontal structures and back parts of the eye. The binocular slit-
lamp examination provides a stereoscopic magnified view of the eye structures in
detail, enabling anatomical diagnoses to be made for a variety of eye conditions. A
second, hand-held lens is used to examine the retina.
In the package there is also a separate camera, that can be mounted on the slit-
lamp. When they use this they can take pictures if the eye to show the patient, or to
be used in diagnostics.

Keratometer: A keratometer, is a diagnostic instrument for measuring the curvature

of the anterior surface of the cornea, particularly for assessing the extent and axis
of astigmatism.

Autorefraktor/autoforopter:
A phoropter is an instrument commonly used by optometrist and ofthalmologist
during an eye examination , containing different lenses used for refraction of the
eye during sight testing. This is to measure an individual's refractive error, and
determine his or her eyeglass perscription.

Fokusmålar: Measures the corrective power of the lens that is in frame. So we can
know if its a myopic lens, or a hypermetropic lens.
We can also see if its a varyfocal/progressive lens.

PD mål: To measure the distance between the pupillae of a parson.

Prosjektor: An image projektor that projects an image (or moving images) onto a
surface, commonly a projection screen
