Graduation and Commencement Ceremonies

1. Transcript/ Testimonial/ Online Academic Report

Students who have completed all the graduation requirements and are approved to
graduate by the Senate in late June will receive a hard copy of their academic transcript
with honours classification / designation of degree by mail after mid July.

During interim period (13 June to mid July), you can download online academic report in
MyBU-Study (My Study/Graduation/Print Academic Report). The report can be
stamped at Academic Registry Services Section on 13/F Shek Mun Campus. Or, all
prospective graduates may apply for transcript and/or testimonial, requesting “Graduation
Status” starting from 11 July 2018 at the Academic Registry (AR). Please note that the
AR may take 5 working days for the issuance.

2. Verify and Update Information at the Student Information System (My BU-Study)

2.1 Personal Data

All final year students are requested to verify your personal data before graduation.
As your English and Chinese names in our record will be printed on your degree
diploma, you should make sure that they are identical with those on your HKID
card/passport. In case of any discrepancies, please complete the form "Application
for Amendment of Name" and return it to the Academic Registry Services Section
on 13/F, Shek Mun Campus immediately. For verification of your identity, the
form must be submitted together with a copy of your HKID / student card.

Upon graduation, you will become a Baptist alumnus. Our Alumni Affairs Office
(AAO) would like to keep you update on future events of the University and
privileges available to alumni. With a view to communicating with you on the above,
we shall transfer your personal particulars to the Alumni Affairs Office unless you do
not agree to such arrangement by indicating at the bottom of the ‘My
Service/Personal Data' page under 'Edit Your Personal Information' in MyBU-Study.
If you agree to transfer your personal particulars to AAO, your personal data may
also be disclosed to any third party service providers in connection with the
University for carrying out promotional activities. If you agree to transfer your
personal data to AAO but do not want to have them disclosed to any third parties,
please email to AAO at alumni@hkbu.edu.hk. We look forward to staying in touch
with you and to enriching your life with the unrelenting Baptist spirit.

 2.2 Update Correspondence Address
All graduates will be invited to take part in the Commencement. Detailed
Information and arrangement of the event will be announced by stages starting from
September of your graduation year. Invitation package will be sent to all graduates
by post in early September. If you have changed your correspondence address, please
keep us updated by updating the correspondence address at MyBU-Study (My
Services/ Personal Data/Edit Your Personal Data) before 27 June 2018 in order to
avoid delay in receiving information of the graduation ceremonies. After the Senate
Meeting (i.e. 27 June 2018), you are required to fill out the "Change of Address
Form".

3. System Access Right

Please note that once the Senate has approved a student to graduate, his/her access right
to SCE Moodle and MyBU-Study will expire on 31 December 2018. You are strongly
recommended to back up your relevant materials (e.g. assignments, notes, etc.) or
download your academic reports (for Undergraduate studies and/or make-up courses) and
official receipts before your account expires.

4. Please bookmark the webpage (http://www.hkbu.edu.hk/ar/commencement/) to check out

the updated information of the Commencement.
