Argala is a very important concept in Vedic astrology. In a literal sense, argal means "deadbolt.

" Argala influencing the house interferes with

his influence and forbids or allows his qualities to be shown to him.

A planet or sign in the 2nd, 4th, and 11th houses from any planet or sign is given a primary argala. This simple concept can be better
understood if you give examples.

The 4th house is in charge of education. 2nd, 4th and 11th from the 4th house - 5th, 7th and 2nd house respectively. (5th) intelligence,
interaction with others (7th), character in general and samskara (2nd) reason for the beginning of an apprenticeship or the destruction of
education. If Jupiter is in the 5th house, he will give intellect, and his subhargala (favorable intervention) on the 4th will help education. If
Rahu is in the 5th house, his papagral (unfavorable intervention) on the 4th will cause obstacles and the person will have poor education
due to poor intelligence. Similarly, favorable and unfavorable planets in homes cause argal and give good and bad interference. Here you
can see that intelligence, interaction with people and samskara are those aspects that are responsible for education.

Let me give you another example. Short trips look from 3rd house. What things are necessary for the trip? The most important need (4th)
vehicle. You also need someone who will serve a person driving a vehicle. Employees are treated from the 6th. So, it is not surprising that
the 4th and 6th houses cause argal to the 3rd house, which is the 2nd and 4th from it, respectively! If there is a papargala on the 3rd of the
4th, this may indicate a nuisance on the trip due to the vehicle. If there is a papargal on the 3rd of the 6th, this may indicate a nuisance on
the trip due to the driver.

Let me give you one more example. Harmony in the family, comfort, well-being and happiness are shown in the 4th house. What are the
things that can create or destroy family harmony? Of course, wife, children and other family members! Each of them can intervene in the
harmony of the family.

No wonder the 5th, 7th and 2nd houses have argalas to the 4th house (being the 2nd, 4th and 11th respectively from the 4th house)! If an
unfavorable planet in the 5th has papargals on the 4th, this may indicate family problems and lack of shukha (comfort and happiness) due to
the child. If auspicious in the 7th has subhargala on the 4th, this may show family happiness from a caring partner.

Let me now consider two practical examples to illustrate the above concepts.

Example 1:
View the lady in the map. In Leo, in the Prantantardashe (used by Narayana Dasha) for 12 days, she made a trip to visit the famous
American city. Let us try to guess who drove the minibus in which she traveled.

Taking the sign of Leo as Lagna, the 3rd house is Libra. The planets in the 6th reason are argals and show the driver of this short trip. Here
Jupiter is in the 6th. What driver means Jupiter? Jupiter is Patrakarak, and he is the 5th from Leo. So one of the possibilities: a son or
daughter. Indeed, this lady was carrying her daughter in Lev pratyantardashe. Her daughter is a sattvic person.

Example 2:

The same lady was very unhappy during Scorpio Antardasi (used by Narayana Dasha). She clashed with her family members, almost in
everyday matters, and the harmony of the family suffered.

From Scorpio, the 4th house shows family harmony and happiness. He has the moon in him. So things must be beautiful, but they were
not. Why?

It is because of Rahu in the 5th, he gives argala on the 4th! This shows some of the clashes associated with the (5th) child. In fact, this lady
was unhappy because of a younger daughter who could not get a job or get married. She was upset and the harmony of the family was
destroyed by useless disputes and insults.

However, Jupiter in the 12th from the 4th makes argala Rahu difficult. Jupiter - Putrakarak and the owner of the 5th from Scorpio. Thus, the
eldest daughter of this woman came to her aid, telling her mother that there was no great cause for concern, and she took advantage of her
wise recommendation. This lessened some of the lady’s tension and brought her some relief and happiness.
These examples show that argal is a very simple and important concept. An intellectual astrologer can use it to gain deep insights into
practical maps.
