ANNEXURE - A

Sl No Post Category of medical check up


1. Section Engineer & Junior Engineer Category A 3

2. Maintainer Category B 1

Distance Vision Near Vision

For A1 category
6/6, 6/6 without glasses with Fogging test Sn. 0.6, 0.6
For A3 category
6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses. Power of lens not to Sn. 0.6, 0.6
exceed + / - 2 D
For B1 category
6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses. Power of lens not to Sn. 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses, where reading or
exceed + / - 4 D close work is required.
For C 2 category
6/ 12, Nil with or without glasses Sn. 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses, where reading or
close work is required.
For B1 Category

In addition to the above remarks, it may be noted that candidates with stammering and skin diseases shall be
declared unfit, as these posts involve extensive public relation functions.

For C 1 Category
6/12, 6/ 18 with or without glasses Sn. 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses, where reading or
close work is required.
ANNEXURE - B

For Maintainer ,Junior Engineer and Section Engineer

Medical Checkup covers the following :

Part 1 – Tests

1. Chest X – Ray
2. ECG
3. CBC
4. FBS / PPBS
5. Urine Complete Examination
6. BUN
7. Serum Creatinine
8. Lipid Profile

Part - 2 Medical Check up including:

1) ENT checkup by ENT specialist


2) Eye checkup by Opthalmologist
3) Audiometry by concerned Specialist - normal hearing in speech frequencies
4) General checkup by the Physician and
5) Specialist consultation including by the Neurologist, Cardiologist, Orthopedician,
Gynecologist etc.

Note: Please see Annexure – A for category of tests (A1, A3 and B1, C1 and C2)
and other details. Special and serious care needs to be taken according
to the procedure prescribed in respect of vision.
