Changes during adolescence:

 During the whole period of adolescence the height increases by


25% and weight is increased by 50%.
 In girls, the growth spurt or rapid physical development begins
between the ages of 8 and 11 and reaches a peak at an average of
22 years.
 Motor performance reaches its peak at an average of 15 years
and in boys at about 18 years.
 Significant changes in the area of social development occur in the
period of adolescence.
 Adolescence is said to be a period of heightened emotionality. It is
a state of more than normal emotional experience.
 Logical, critical and analytical thinking skills develops at its peak.
 The characteristic changes include voice change, growth of
secondary sexual characters, thickening of skin, markable changes
in their character etc.

Question: These changes can be sought out with the help of proper
diet that fulfill the nutritional requirements of an adolescent and an
extensive support from the parental side. Do they?
