TRABECULAE = osteopetrosis:

 Trabecular THINNING with FEWER INTERCONNECTIONS = osteoporosis:

 Thinning of CORTICAL BONE with PRESERVED TRABECULAE = primary
hyperparathyroidism
o Progression to eventual trabecular involvement
o Eventual formation of brown tumors = hemosiderin deposition due to
hemorrhage:


o Lastly, progresses to osteitis fibrosa cystica (von Recklinghausen disease of
bone) -> cysts + hemorrhage in bone:
