I am standing as a Green Party candidate for the London-wide Assembly list. I
was a candidate for this in 2016 and played a small part in supporting the work of the campaign team. Since then I have stood as a general election candidate for the second time in 2017 for Ilford South. I also stood as a paper candidate in Waltham Forest for the council elections this year and supported our target ward campaign. I have regularly supported local parties in by-elections all over London. I have taken part in difficult hustings. As secretary of London Green Party between 2012 and 2018 I have considerable knowledge and experience of London campaigns, and how the local parties in London work and the huge efforts being made by our current Assembly members Sian Berry and Caroline Russell. I am also on the committee of Green Party Women and I have some experience of the Women’s Equality Party who, judging from their work in 2016, in the following general election, and in the council elections and recent by-elections, do have plans to elect an Assembly member in 2020, we can work together on some issues but need to ensure they do not take an seat instead of us. However it is too early to consider the whole of the party political arithmetic as the position of all the other parties could change enormously before May 2010.
As a candidate I plan to be an active part of the team, supporting the lead
candidates and the campaign team in all the work that is involved as well as being a visible supporter at events. I am a team worker and am available now to help build on the start of the best campaign ever. I know I can make a significant contribution to the success of the London Green Party representation on the London Assembly in 2020.
Please place me high in your selection of the Green Party London Assembly list for 2020.
