Hello! My name is Ben Fletcher and | ama Yorkshireman by birth, a Londoner by choice. | live in Southfields with my partner and our baby son. | work as Principal Engineer for the Financial Times newspaper. | am profoundly Deaf and partially-sighted and | am bilingual in English and British Sign Language. I’m also a proud member of Wandsworth Green Party. | stood for the Greens in the 2017 General Election (Putney, 1107 votes) and the 2018 local elections (Southfields ward, 462 votes). It was a huge honour for me to be awarded the Most Inspiring Candidate award at the 2017 Autumn Conference. If elected to the London Assembly in 2020, I will: 1. Work as hard as | can to make the policies of the Green Party a reality in London. 2. Put my specialist tech skills to good use for the benefit of the Green Party (for example, tech in buses & trains to detect how full they are for real-time apps like Citymapper) 3. Proudly represent the Deaf and disabled community who are currently under-represented in British political life. Thank you for your support!
