All lipids contain carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen.

Some of them also

contain nitrogen and phosphorus.

Lipids have several important roles in the body, providing: a source and
store of energy. an important part of the membrane surrounding every
body cell. the basic building blocks from which several hormones
(chemical messengers) and bile acids (digestive juices) are made.

Lipids are important molecules in biochemistry. A lipid can

becomprised of the elements of carbon (C), hydrogen (H),
oxygen (O),nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P).
What Is Unsaturated Fat?

Unsaturated fats are typically liquid at room temperature.

They differ from saturated fats in that their chemical structure
contains one or more double bonds.
What Is Saturated Fat?

Saturated fats have no double bonds in their chemical structure.

They are “saturated” with hydrogen atoms. Because of their
chemical structure, they have a solid consistency at room
temperature.
Saturated fats are solid at room temperature, while unsaturated fats
are liquid at room temperature. This is because saturated and
unsaturated fats differ in their chemical structures. Saturated fats have
no double bond between molecules, which means there are no gaps
and the fat is saturated with hydrogen molecules
