Scene 1

Starts with a white screen saying ‘THE DETACHED’. Black blur

flies past hiding title. Camera pans over to see Alex’s face.
He is sitting in the car and is on the way to school. The
sounds of trees flying past him. The camera cuts to a shot of
his hearing aid and the sound cuts out to show he is deaf. The
car stops and he gets out and walks towards the school.

Scene 2

He is in class and is sitting there working. The sounds of the

teacher and the class can be heard. Close up shots of Alex
which focus pulls to Georgia sitting next to him. She looks up
at to him and starts to write something. A shot of a piece of
paper sliding under Alex. He looks down at it for a second
before opening it.
The note reads ‘Coffee?’

Alex looks over to Georgia who smiles at him. He looks back to

the note. He writes ‘Sure’ underneath her message and passes
it back.
She reads is and smiles to herself looking at him a few times.

Scene 3

Shots of him walking down an empty corridor. The corridor has

a cool tone. He walks into the toilet and the door shuts. The
camera stays still and then suddenly gunshots can be heard.

Scene 4
The kids in the classroom hide under the tables. Shots of them
being scared. The classroom door locks.

Scene 5

Close up shot of the toilet door unlocking and him walking

out. No music can be heard. He walks out into the corridor and
stops suddenly, shocked as he can see people’s bodies filling
the floor. Deep unnerving music kicks in. He slowly walks down
the corridor in shock. He stops in the centre of the hall and
looks around. He begins to slowly walk down the corridor
towards his classroom and then runs towards it.

Scene 6

He arrives at the door and tries to open it but it is locked.

He looks at the people in the classroom in a panic for them to
let him in. They don’t open the door. He looks to the left
down the corridor to see some flashes and realises the shooter
is close. He slowly backs away from the door and runs towards
another classroom.

Scene 7
 EDWARD HUDEC – THE DETACHED

He opens the door to a classroom which is dark inside and

hides under a table. The shooter shows up in the doorway of
the classroom, casting a shadow over the classroom. The
shooter slowly walks into the room, allowing tension to build.
Alex closes his eyes, hoping that he is not caught. The
shooter walks right past him. The shadow then lifts off Alex’s
face and he opens his eyes as he realises the shooter has
left. He breathes heavily in shock and panic of what he’s just
seen.

Scene 8

He is walking down a school corridor, being cautious. He turns

the corner to see Georgia laying dead on the floor. He freezes
in shock. A tear runs out of his eye and he gets light headed.
He collapses into a wall and nearly faints but gets back up
when he hears a gun shot behind him. He runs down the
corridor. He pauses in a corridor for breath. In the
background you can see a silhouette appear of the shooter.
There is a flash. Alex collapses to the floor. He has been
shot in the leg. He is lying on the floor in pain. He crawls
forward and manages to climb to his feet and exit the
building.

Scene 9
He exits out the block and arrives outside. He is in a large
open space. He can see in the distance a flashing blue light
but his vision is blurry. He stumbles over to the light but it
is far away. He falls into a wall. His vision is blurry.
Everything is silent and some quiet hopeful but tense music
can be heard. He reaches the tape and ducks under it, falling
to the floor. He is facing up, looking at the sky. People
start to crowd around him. Cuts to black.

Credits roll.
