Enrolled Cadets, contracted or non-contracted, will coordinate any anticipated absence with both their Military Science Instructor and Cadet chain-of-command (CoC) prior to the absence. Contracted Cadets who fail to gain explicit approval from their Instructor and/or inform the Cadet CoC before missing a mandatory event will be considered unexcused 2. Cadre expect enrolled Cadets to attend all mandatory activities as outlined in the syllabi for their respective Military Science (MS) classes. These events include, but may not necessarily be limited to, physical training, leadership laboratories, class, and each term's field training exercise (FTX). Enrolled Cadets who have an unexcused absence will fall subject to the consequences outlined in the syllabus for their MS class. 3. Contracted Cadets will fall subject to the additional consequences identified below. Note that unexcused absences are tallied per semester and do not carry over to the next term. a. First unexcused absence. Counseling from the Cadet CO or 186. b. Second unexcused absence. Counseling from the Instructor plus the scheduling of a “make-up” session for the missed training. This make-up session will occur outside of regularly-scheduled ROTC activities, which could include evenings or weekends. c. Third unexcused absence. Counseling from the SMI or PMS, “make-up” session, and possible disenroliment from ROTC. Additionally, Cadets on scholarship may be placed on probation or suspension. d. Fourth unexcused absence.
