Comparators are available as single, dual and quad packages. For example, the Freescale/Motorola LM330 includes four
such comparators on a single integrated circuit. Figure 4.12(a) shows how such a comparator could be used for voltage
comparisons, one of the inputs being a fixed reference voltage and the othera voltage from a sensor, e.g. the potential
difference across a photoresistor. Typical values have been given for the resistors. The reference voltage is VecRy/(Ry +
Rquy)- Such a circuit might be used with a temperature sensor such as LM35 when the sensor temperature is tobe
