11, Ambassador Craft demonstrates a deep commitment to her
home state by serving in several leadership roles with the Salvation
Army of Lexington and the Center for Rural Development, a non-
profit dedicated to economic development in rural Kentucky.  She

Council, the Lexington Philharmonic, YMCA of Central Kentucky,

A businesswoman and investor, former actress, Doctor of Chiropractic


Medicine, and American diplomat who serves as the United States
Ambassador to Denmark.

Sands served on the boards of Pepperdine University, the Los Angeles


Museum of Contemporary Arts, the Library Foundation of Los Angeles and
the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

She was named by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, to be on the board


of the California Cultural and Historical Endowment.

Sands served as the President and Chairman of Blue Ribbon, an


organization that supports the Los Angeles Music Center and also as a
Director of the Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County. She also
served on the board of the California Cultural and Historical Endowment.
She is also a GOP fundraiser and donor and supported the campaign of
Carla Sands Donald Trump.

U.S. Ambassador to Dominican Republic confirmed 6/28/18

Bernstein was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey and graduated


from Bridgeton High School in 1972. She received a Bachelor of
Arts in Language Area Studies from the American University School
of International Service in 1975.  She later earned an Master of
Business Administration from the George Washington University
School of Business in 1981.

She started off as a Democrat and served as a transition team


member for Jimmy Carter and then worked around the Democratic
Party until 1986, when she became a Republican. She was a
founding member of Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club, and has been his
Robin Bernstein insurance agent for many years, leading to concerns about
potential conflicts of interest, especially given the Trump
Organization's pursuit of a licensing deal in the Dominican Republic.

A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, class of Minister-


Counselor, has been the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the State
Department’s Bureau of Public Affairs since 2016.   She served as the
Bureau’s Acting Assistant Secretary from January 2017 – January
2018.  Previously, Ms. Stevenson was the Chief of Staff for the Under
Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs (2015 – 2016) and
Director of the Office of Policy, Planning and Resources for the Under
Secretary for Public Diplomacy (2014 – 2015).   She also held senior

as United States Ambassador to the Republic of the Congo, having

 A career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the United States
Agency for International Development (USAID), class of Minister-Counselor,
has served as an American diplomat since 1993.  Since 2015, she has been
senior deputy assistant administrator and acting assistant administrator of
USAID’s Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).  Previously,
Ms. Lynch was the USAID Mission Director in Iraq from 2013 to 2014, the
director of USAID’s Office of Iraq and Arabian Peninsula Affairs from 2011
to 2013, and director of the Office of Program and Project Development for
USAID Afghanistan from 2008 to 2009.  In addition to serving as director in
USAID/LAC’s Office of Strategy and Program Planning and the Office of
South American Affairs, she also served overseas in Peru and Bangladesh. 
Ms. Lynch earned a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, an M.A.L.D. degree
from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and an

Ambassador Sison’s diplomatic assignments also include Assistant Chief of Mission


in Baghdad, Iraq; Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian
Affairs; Deputy Chief of Mission in Islamabad, Pakistan; Consul General in Chennai,
India; and tours in Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Benin, Togo, and Haiti. She also served
as the State Department’s Director of Career Development and Assignments.
 Ambassador Sison is the recipient of the U.S. Presidential Distinguished Service
Award, U.S. Presidential Meritorious Service Award, and the U.S. Department of the
Army’s Outstanding Civilian Service Medal. She also holds numerous U.S.
Department of State awards, including Superior Honor Awards and Ambassadorial-
level awards for her contributions to counter-proliferation (2008) and combatting
trafficking in persons (2005). Ambassador Sison is the mother of two grown

U.S. Ambassador to Holy See confirmed 10/16/17

American businesswoman, author, documentary film producer, and


diplomat who serves as the United States Ambassador to the Holy See.
She is married to former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and
2012 Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.  President Donald
Trump nominated her to be the United States Ambassador to the Holy
See in May 2017, and the United States Senate confirmed the nomination
on October 16, 2017. On December 22, 2017, Gingrich presented her
credentials to Pope Francis and officially assumed the duties of United
States Ambassador to the Holy See. She is the 11th U.S. Ambassador to
the Holy See since formal relations were established in 1984 under
President Ronald Reagan.

States Mission to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe
(OSCE), Vienna, Austria.   During her career, she has served as Public
Affairs Counselor at the United States Embassy Madrid Spain, Department
of State Senior Civilian Representative to Task Force Bastogne/Bronco,
Jalalabad Airfield, Afghanistan, and the Public Affairs Advisor to the United
States Mission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Brussels,
Belgium.  Ms. Byrnes earned B.S. and M.A. degrees from Georgetown
University. She is also the recipient of the Secretary’s Expeditionary Service

Toretti is the Chairman and CEO of S.W. Jack Drilling Co., the largest


privately held land-based drilling company in the United States.[2] As of
2005, it is the nineteenth largest contract drilling company in terms of total
footage drilled.[3] The company, founded in 1918 by Toretti's grandfather, is
headquartered in Indiana, Pennsylvania and has regional offices
in Buckhannon and Charleston, West Virginia.[4][5] The S.W. Jack Company
supports oil and gas exploration in West
Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Virginia and New York.[5]

She assumed control of the company upon the unexpected death of her
father, Samuel W. Jack Jr., in 1990.[6][7] Prior to that, she served as CFO.
[7] She is noted as a rare female CEO in the male-dominated energy

industry.
Christine Toretti

Only the fifth foreign service officer from the Department of Commerce – and the
first woman – to be confirmed as Chief of Mission.

U.S. Ambassador to NATO confirmed 8/3/17

Ambassador Kay Bailey Hutchison was sworn in as the Permanent


Representative of the United States to the North Atlantic Treaty
Organization on August 15, 2017.  From 1993-2013, she served as a
U.S. Senator from Texas and was also elected to a Senate
leadership position.  Ambassador Hutchison gained extensive
international experience and developed a deep understanding of
NATO as a Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.  She
also served as Chairman of the Military Construction Subcommittee
and as a Member of the Defense Subcommittee on the Senate
Appropriations Committee.  She served two terms as Chairman of
the Board of Visitors of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Prior to assuming her duties, Ambassador Hutchison was a


prominent attorney at Bracewell, LLP, an established international
Kay Bailey Hutchison law firm in Dallas, Texas. Ambassador Hutchison also served in the
Texas House of Representatives, as the Texas State Treasurer, and
as Vice Chairman of the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board

She most recently served as Deputy Director of the Career Development


and Assignments division of the Department of State’s Bureau of Human
Resources (2016-2017).  Prior to that position, she was the Deputy Chief of
Mission of the US. Embassy in Nigeria (2013-2016).  Previously she served
as: Deputy Executive Director of the Bureau of African Affairs; Management
Officer in Islamabad, Pakistan; in Colombo, Sri Lanka; and in Mumbai,
India.  She has also served as a Special Assistant for the Bureau of
Administration and the Under Secretary for Management, and served in the
Office of Allowances.  She began her Foreign Service career in Lagos,
Nigeria, and served her second tour in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

In 2010, Maria received a Master of Science degree in National Resource


Maria Brewer Strategy at the National Defense University’s Industrial College of the
Armed Forces.  She holds a B.A. in Spanish and International Economics
from Valparaiso University in Indiana.  She is married with one daughter.

Co-founded 100X Development Foundation in 2004, an organization


dedicated to fostering creative solutions to eradicate poverty and improve
the lives of children around the world.  Concurrently, she co-founded and is
currently senior advisor at B & M Management Company, a real estate
investment management company.  Ms. Blanchard has worked in Africa,
Asia, and South America, engaging with local partners to further 100X
Development Foundation’s mission.  As an advocate for people with
special needs for more than 20 years, Ms. Blanchard has voluntarily served
on boards of non-profit organizations and supported numerous education
programs in Alabama, as well as helped families who are interested in
adoption.  She is the mother of seven children, four of which were adopted
internationally.  Ms. Blanchard earned a B.S. in mathematics and a minor in
Lynda Blanchard computer science from Auburn University.

fashion accessories producer.  She served on the Women’s

University of the Witwatersrand and the Institute of Personnel
Management in Johannesburg, South Africa.  She speaks Afrikaans
and Xhosa.

Lana J. Marks
NOMINATED 9/6/18 to be U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka & Maldives
Wife and mother of two sons; Career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the
rank of Minister Counselor, she joined the State Department in 1991 and is the
recipient of numerous Superior and Meritorious Honor Awards.  In Sri Lanka, she
hopes to build upon seven decades of partnership and cooperation in order to
enhance prosperity, encourage democracy and ensure stability.

Management’s Office of Policy, Rightsizing, and Innovation (M/PRI) at the

American lawyer and government official who currently serves as the


Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Council. She
served as the Acting Deputy Representative of the U.S. to the U.N., after it
was vacated by Michele Sison. Prior to assuming her current role, she was
a senior fellow with the Project 2049 Institute, a think tank focused on
security issues and public policy in Central-Asia and the Asia-Pacific
region. She previously held senior public policy positions with the United
States Department of State and several international and non-
governmental human rights and humanitarian organizations. Currie also
served as foreign operations appropriations associate and staff director of
the Congressional Human Rights Caucus for Representative John Porter.
