It is a strong belief of imine that De, Kim's contributions in the field of teleroboties have been outstanding, placing him among, the top tier of robotics researchers and educators. My name is Amit Shukla, a PhD recipient from Imperial College of London, United Kingdom. Currently Jam working at Khalifa University Center for Autonomous Robotic Systems (KUCAR), sponsored by ADNOC to develop robotic technologies such as application of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Teleoperation, Autonomous Control, Tracking, Navigation and Inspection of Oil and Gas pipelines by Autonomous Ground Vehicle (AGV) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). I have more than 6 years of industrial experience as research scientist and have published 28 research papers in the field of roboties and intelligent systems. Although I have no personal ties to Dr. Jong-Hoon Kim as well as I never met him, 1 know his work very ell having heavily cited hhis paper, “FAMPER: A Fully Autonomous Mobile Pipeline Exploration Robot”. in my publications multiple times. For example “Researchers have presented a fully autonomous IPIR, named FAMPER, with excel it can navigate through any spatial conditions of the pipeline (horizontal and vertical both) having, complex geometries (T-branches, Y-branches, and L-joints) using its crawler and extendable link system, ent mobility His paper has already been cited more than 60 times in pipeline maintenance robot research publications. After receiving his request for the support letter | thoroughly reviewed his entire body of research, and investigated his contributions and impacts on his expertise in the area of teleroboties, human-machine interface, and autonomous systems, all of which are related to my research interests and knowledge. Based on my review of his work, I can describe that the novelty of his research and his expertise as outstanding; his contributions have been significant. Dr. Kim has made a great impact on fields relevant to his research. | particularly impressed his recent work in telepresence, The telepresence control concepts in TeleBot's (a current project of his) research is a novel approach and I believe it will have a large impact on control mechanisms in teleoperation robotics. To conclude, { would like to state that Dr. Jong Hoon Kim is a brilliant researcher, investigator, and professor in the field of robotic systems. Granting him the permanent residence inthe U.S. will allow his work to proceed uninterrupted so he can concentrate on application of his skills and knowledge to solving major problems within the field of robotics.
