Section 3E1 Ma’am Alonsabe
Assessment in Learning or Education 214 is an unforgettable subject for me
because it really gave me the final artillery I needed in my journey to becoming a professional educator. Even though I found the subject to be somewhat difficult, it really honed me to become a reliable, credible and valid educator in terms of giving assessment in student progress. I enjoyed some lessons, especially the different kinds of learners and test types. I also got a clear view of the difference among measurement, assessment and evaluation. I found it difficult to do the Math because I honestly suck at numbers and computation. I'm glad my instructor was Ms. Alonsabe because she gives collaborative discussions and considers student welfare. I learned a variety of experiences from others because of the sharing we do during discussion. I'm happy that I took this course because I believe that without Educ214, it would be detrimental if I proceed to practice teaching without knowing the basic knowledge of assessment. This course is a big step towards my ultimate goal: to be a Thomasian Educator who is committed, competent and compassionate.
Education 214 also gave me an idea on what to expect in a real classroom
setting. The course gave various descriptions about classroom situations and possible dilemmas we may encounter. It gave me an idea on how to react at possible events that may transpire inside the portals of a real school. I admire the fact that the subject not only offers an ample of guidelines and lessons in constructing assessment materials, but also provides effective information on the expected conduct of teachers inside the classroom.
