AN ACT DECLARING THE LAST MONDAY OF JANUARY
EVERY YEAR AS A SPECIAL WORKING HOLIDAY IN
OBSERVANCE OF NATIONAL BIBLE DAY
Be it enacied by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. Short Title, - This Act shall be known as
the “National Bible Day Act”.
SEC. 2. Declaration of Policy. ~ I ix the policy of the
State that the government shall aid and encourage
development of the moral character and spiritual foundation
of the Filipino people.
SBC. 3. As a predominantly Christian nation and the
largest Christian nation in the Asia Pacific, this Act
recognizes the value of the Holy Bible as the core of Christian
faith. The last Monday of January and every year thereafter
is hereby declared as "National Bible Day” and proclaim the
same as a special working holiday,

SEC. 4. All laws. presidential decrees, executive orders,
issuances, rules and regulations and any part thereof regarding
national nonworking holidays which are inconsistent with the
Provisione of this Act are hereby repealed or modified
accordingly
SEC. 5. This Act shall take offect fifteen (15) days after
its complete publication in the Official Gazette or at least
two (2) newspapers of general circulation,

This Act was passed by the Senate of the Philippines
as Senate Bill No. 1270 on February 5, 2018 and adopted by
the House of Representatives as an amendment to House Bill
No. 7544 on October 19, 2018.
