6.42 Release 4.5.6.0.70
PHY:
1. None.

MAC:
1. AT commands
a. Remove a redundant delay in AT+CGACT? function to fix statistical race issue that may
cause firmware to hang after few hours of operation. No change to the functionality of

Altair SW RN, Revision 1
Confidential. Copyright © 2013, Altair Semiconductor - Under NDA
4. fix AT+CGCONTRDP=? also returning dedicated bearers
5. In rare cases after boot some AT commands response is "error" - ecm exit on FATAL error
as ATUSOLDEL command to FW fails
6. Bug fix- DDR is not put into SELF REFRESH state while UE is in low power mode and data
might be corrupted. Applicable in cases where the device is in 32KHz and in long periods of
sleep (mainly in out of coverage scenarios)

6.48 Release 4.5.6.10.85

PHY:
1. None.

MAC:

1. Error in deleting bearers by packet filter ID caused deletion of wrong bearers

2. When RRC fail to establish connection (for service request or TAU request) due to no cell
available, the UE will need TAU once the cell is available. The issue is that the NW may
loose the UE and therefore the GW in core network will not direct the packets correctly.

6.49 Release 4.5.6.10.87

PHY:
1. Add support for band 18
2. Add support for band 28
3. 15MHz sensitivity improvement during power save mode
4. Improve SIB decoding capability in low SINR

MAC:

1. change AT command -AT+CGCONTRDP=? - When printing list of active cids, Add a comma
sign between different cids
2. change AT command - AT+CGDCONT? - When printing the PDN IP stack type (IPV4 \ IPV6),
Add quotation mark to the PDN type string
3. change AT command output - AT+CEREG - Remove a redundant space sign before the ':'
sign in the command output
4. Save Switch-off request when EMM is in state REGISTERED_PLMN_SEARCH - Before the
change the UE tried to send detach, and it causes an assert
5. Bug fix - Sync issue between AT commands state machine and USIM state machine - On
AT+CFUN=4: Change USIM state to 'deactivate' and change AT state to
WAIT_FOR_DEREGISTER_SWITCH_OFF_RSP
6. Bug fix - out of memory in PWRT when having 5 -6 stations transferring data - change
hardcoded values in memory management of PWRT to be procs (meaning it will be
changable by cli and not only compilation) – the values are : nomem_threshold – the
minimum amount of memory allowed for PWRT – below that number the PWRT will stop

Altair Software Release Notes Document

transferring data and will wait until memory is freed, Nomem_sleep_time – polling interval
in order to see if memory is freed
7. Optimization of SIM activation time per VZW branded spec: reduce UICC accesses by using
firmware UICC cache and not re-writing TAI values if not necessary. When cell is selected,
write the TAI to the UICC only if it has a different TAI than the one which is already written
in the UICC. This will allow the inactivity timer of the UICC lines to expire with no
interference and shorten the overall activation time
8. Adding BSP flag ipSrcFilterDisable, to disable the IPV4 Packet filtering in case of wrong
source address. Related AT commands were added as well.
a. at%setcfg="IP_SRC_FILTER_DIS","1"
b. at%setcfg="IP_SRC_FILTER_DIS","0"
c. at%getcfg="IP_SRC_FILTER_DIS"
9. Optimization (RRC layer) to improve re-selection success rate in low SINR – optimization of
RRC decision mechanism to select suitable cell upon transition from RRC connected to RRC
idle. In some cases, modem selected the last serving cells instead of the stronger cell which
resulted in redundant handover and potential data stall
10. Bug fix (RRC layer) to improve modem robustness in low SINR – mechanism to restore valid
known SIBs (based on SystemInfoValueTag) was incorrectly not activated by the RRC layer
in some conditions. This forced the modem to always collect SIBs and not use the data
already acquired previously (when channel conditions were better).
11. Bug fix (RRC layer) to improve modem robustness in low SINR - System Information (SIB)
collection timeout was incorrectly set to lower period than intended, which caused failures
to acquire System Information in low SINR in some situations. The fix is applied to the RRC
layer

6.50 Release 4.5.6.10.88

PHY:
1. None.

MAC:

1. bug fix in SIB caching: when copying sibs from the cache, there was a case that memory
was allocated instead of deallocated in the candidate cell DB.
2. Do not send NAS_RESET to EMM in case of CFUN=1 in limited service, in case the PIN was
not verified yet
3. otp lock fails on some sflash devices - because the length transferred to the linux kernel is
always 64 bytes and is not taken from the otp region info
4. bug fix: PDN deactivation while in out of coverage was not working properly - Upon PDN
de-activation request from the user the UE should try to de-activate it. if the UE fails to
send the msg to the NW it should de-activate it locally and align the NW using TAU request
which include the EBI
