COMPLAINT AND WARRANT OF ARREST

I, Detective Stefanie Brady, do hereby swear under the
penalty of perjury that the assertions of this affidavit are true.
i. That your affiant is a Detective with the Washoe County sheriff’s
Office (wcso). In that capacity, and in conjunction with the
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), I am currently assigned to
the investigation into the murders of Constance (Connie) Koontz,
Sophia Renken, and Gerald (Jerry) and Sharon (Sherri) David. Ms.
Koontz was murdered in her residence located at 1439 James Road,
Gardnerville, Nevada, sometime between 9:00 PM, on January 9, 2019,
and 9:50 AM, on January 10, 2019. Ms. Renken was murdered in her
residence located at 943 Dresserville Road, Gardnerville, Nevada,
sometime between 4:00 PM, on January 12, 2019, and 1:00 PM, on
January 13, 2019. Mrs. David and Mr. David were murdered in their
residence located at 760 La Guardia Lane, Reno, Nevada, sometime
between 11:30 AM on January 15, 2019, and 4:00 PM on January 16,
2019. Moreover, I am assigned to the investigation into burglaries
that occurred at the aforementioned residence of Mrs. and Mr. David
on or about January 3, and/or January 4, 2019, The facts and

circumstances of these investigations are documented under the
following case numbers: WSO 19-306, DCSO 198001032 and 199001327
Your affiant is informed and believes and thereupon alleges the
following to be a sufficient representation of facts to establish
probable cause to believe that Wilber Ernesto Martinez Guzman has
committed four (4) counts of Murder with the use of a Deadly
Weapon, a violation of NRS 200.010, NRS 200.030, and NRS 193.165,
felonies, one count of Burglary, a violation of NRS 205.060, a
felony, and four (4) counts of Burglary involving a Firearm, a
violation of NRS 205.060, felonies, which were committed on or
about January 3, 2019, January 4, 2019, January 9-10, 2019, January
12-13, 2019, and January 15-16, 2019, in Washoe County, Nevada and
Douglas County, Nevada
On or about January 3, 2019, and/or January 4, 2019, Mr. David
discovered that structures and/or a trailer on the Davids’
aforementioned property had been burglarized. It was noted that
during these burglaries a skill saw, several fishing poles, and a
hunting bag which contained items including ammunition and possibly
a pistol were stolen. This information was provided by Mr. David
to a caretaker for his property and corroborated by entries on a
calendar found in the Davids’ residence.
. On January 10, 2019, Ms, Koontz was found deceased in her
aforementioned residence, ‘There did not appear to be any forced
entry. The main garage door was open, the door from the garage
into the home was open and the garage man door to the back yard was
open. The investigation suggests that Me, Koontz was killed by a10

single gunshot to the head with a .22 caliber firearm. There was
no expended shell casing found on scene. Numerous items were
stolen from the residence including jewelry, an Apple watch,
iphone, and an iMac all-in-one desk top computer.
. On January 13, 2019, Ms. Renken was found deceased in her
aforementioned residence. The main gate to Ms. Renken's
approximately 1.63 acre property was askew and a gate to a dog run
on the back of the property was open. Ms. Renken was found on the
master bedroom floor. Ms. Renken was shot four times. The
investigation revealed that the perpetrator fired at least five
shots inside the residence. A near completely intact expended .22
caliber round was found on the hallway floor, and a portion of an
expended .22 caliber round was recovered from the door jamb of a
closet/pantry near the kitchen and hallway area of the residence.
‘The investigation suggests Ma. Renken was shot in the face with .2
caliber “snake shot” and was then shot three more times while
attempting to retreat into her bedroom, or while in her bedroom,
where she ultimately succumbed to the four gunshot wounds. No
expended shell casings were found at the scene.
On January 16, 2019, Mr. and Mrs. David were found deceased in
their aforementioned residence. Responding WwCSO deputies
discovered an open door leading into a mudroom in the rear of the
residence. Upon entering the mudroom Deputies discovered Mrs.
David. Deputies then found Mr, David in the master bedroom. Both
victims had been shot in the head. Deputies further discovered
that the David residence had been ransacked consistent with a
