How does Earth s surface evolve?

This chapter is about how the topography can be related with tectonic and climatic processes.
The Earth s shape is continuosly transformed by the phenomena that happens every day, for
example the tides, the volcanic activities, landslides. For that reason we can establish that Earth s
shape was the consecuence of tectonic and climatic processes, that mean that with a kwnoledge of
how these factors are related at with help of satellite images we can have a better understanding
of these processes. For example the geodesy allows to evaluated the subsidence by the extraction
of subsuperficial water.

Spotlight XVll

This section is about how the geodesy help to show the transformation of the shape of the Earth.
In this project the objetive is quantify the influence of the landslides in the erosion of mountains
The project was made with three sources InSAR, LiDAR and aerial photos, and was made in the
north of California. Finally the study show that there are a small region in the Eel River in which can
observe landslides that affect the erosion in the mountains.

Spotlight XVIII

This section is about how the T-LiDAR can show us information about the Earth surface. The first
example show the deformation caused in a point that was located in the san andres fault, the
second is about how the basin of the south of california was influenced by aeolian and dry
processes and the third is about mesure the biomass in a accurate way and not destructive.
