Cedar City, Utah Anjelica Ashworth, a student from Southern Utah University, completed her EDGE project this past summer by traveling to Romania for two weeks. She decided to travel with the Psychology department at SUU. She traveled to cities like Cluj Napoca, Sighisorara, Brasoc, and Gura Humorului. As Anjelica was in each city, she was able to experience the culture of Romania. Not only did Anjelica experience the culture, but she gained an appreciation for the food, clothing, and language. This project was important because not only was she able to learn more about others, but she learned more about herself. She learned how to accept others for who they are. Anjelica traveled to Romania with the goal to learn about another culture. This project allowed Anjelica to experience another’s culture. She was given the opportunity to stay in the homes of locals. Anjelica was able to travel to various castles to learn about the rich history of Romania. Many of these castles included Peles Castle and Poenari Castle. Not only was Anjelica able to experience the beauty of these castles, but she was given the opportunity to stay with residents in Romania. These visits allowed Anjelica to be fully immersed in their culture. She was able to talk to locals, eat their food, and learn about their lives. Anjelica completed her project through the EDGE program at Southern Utah University. The EDGE program allows students to gain experience in their field of study through projects of their choosing. This project could be completed as a study abroad, internship, or community service. The possibilities of a project are endless for each student. The program encourages the students to be creative and to have fun. These completed projects give students a more hands-on experience that could relate to their real-life careers.### Contact Information Anjelica Ashworth 702-545-7961 anjelicalashworth@gmail.com 38 N 200 W St Cedar City, UT
