앵커: YTN 오후 5시 뉴스입니다. 남극 세종과학기지에 근무하던 우리
연구원 8명이 기상악화로 조난을 당해 실종됐습니다. 취재기자

기자: 네, 정부종합청사입니다. 남극세종과학기지에 근무하던 우리
해양연구원 8명이 실종되었습니다. 국무총리실이 밝힌 실종경위는
이렇습니다.

남극기지에는 월동대원 20여명이 해마다 한차례씩 교대근무를 하게

되어있는데
귀국길에 오르던 해양연구대원들을 남극 해양기지 세종과학기지에서
고무부트로 후송한 다음에 남극기지로 돌아오던 고무보트 한대가 전복이
되었습니다. 아, 실종이됐습니다. 정정합니다.

그래서 3명이 실종된 시간이 지난 6일입니다. 실종이 되고 난 다음에

남극세종기지에서 다시 이들을 구조 수색하기위해서 고무보트 한대가
인근기지를 수색했습니다. 그러던 중 이 고무보트에 5명이 타고있었는데
다시 전복이 됐 다는 무전연락이 오고 교신이 두절됐습니다. 그래서
지금까지 모두 8명이 실종됐습니다.

다시한번 전해드리겠습니다. 남극 세종과학 기지에 근무하던 우리

해양연구원 8명이 실종됐습니다. 실종시간은 6일 오후 1시경입니다.
현지시간으로 한국시간이 하루쯤 빠릅니다.
1차로 3명이 실종되었습니다. 실종 경위는 이렇습니다.

남극 세종기지에 월동대원으로 근무하던 24명을 고무보트 2대로 나누어

태우고 실내기지로 후송을 했습니다. 세종과학기지로 돌아오던 중에
귀환요원 3명이 타고있던 보트가 1차로 실종이 되었습니다.

실종이 되니까 세종기지에 있던 고무보트 한대가 수색을 위해서

출동했습니다. 수색을 하던 중에 기상이 악화되서 전복이 되었다는
무전연락이 오고난후 교신이 두절이 되었습니다. 두번째 보트에 타고있던
사람은 5명입니다. 그래서 지금까지 모두 8명이 되었습니다. 자세한 소식이
들어오는 대로 다시 전해드리겠습니다.

앵커:체감경기 지표인 도.소매 판매업이 관련 통계를 집계한 이후 가장 긴
9개월째 내리막길을 걷고 있는 것으로 나타났습니다. 보도에 김상우
기자입니다.

정부는 올 3분기쯤에 경기가 바닥을 찍었다고 공식 발표했지만 통계청

조사결과를 보면 꽁꽁 언 심리가 풀리려면 아직도 먼 것으로 보입니다. 먼저
체감경기 지표인 도.소매업은 지난해 같은 기간에 비해 1.2%가 줄어 지난
2월 이후 9개월째 위축됐습니다.

업종별로 보면 자동차 판매업의 경우 한 달전보다 감소폭이 더 큰 15.6%가

줄어 8개월째 감소세가 계속됐습니다.

숙박 과 음식점업도 –2.2퍼센트를 기록해 휴가철인 8월 한달 반짝 성장세롤

돌아선이후 2달째 감소세를 보여 여전히 불경기의 직격탄을 맞고 있는 것으로
나타났습니다.

특히 세탁과 이미용, 목욕탕 등 기타 서비스업 부문의 경우 마이너스 4.5%로

6개월째 내리막길을 걷고 있는 것으로 나타나는 등소비자들이 기본적인
씀씀이마저 줄이고 있는 것으로 분석됐습니다.

News Anchor: This is YTN 5 PM news. Eight Korean researchers stationed in Antarctic
King Sejong Base are missing due to bad weather. We will connect to an assignment
reporter.

Reporter: Yes. I am in the Integrated Government Building. Eight Korean researchers

stationed in Antarctic King Sejong Base are missing. Here are details of what has
happened, according to the State office.

Normally about 20 winter researchers take turns to work in the Antarctic base. A rubber
boat which was returning to the Antarctic base after dropping off those home-bound
ocean researchers, got capsized. Oh, the boat is missing (not capsized). Let me correct
it.

The time of these 3 persons' disappearance was on the 6th. After their disappearance,
another rubber boat searched the nearby area to rescue them. This rubber boat carrying 5
people sent a radio message saying their boat was capsized and then lost touch with the
base. Therefore, 8 people remain missing so far. Here is a list of missing people.

Let me report this news again. Eight Korean researchers stationed in Antarctic King
Sejong Base are missing. The time of their disappearance is around 6 PM on the 6th. The
local time is about one day ahead of our time. Three people were initially missing. Here
is what’s happened.

Two boats were transferring 24 home-bound winter researchers, who finished working at
Antarctic King Sejong Base, to an indoor base. On its way back to Sejong Science Base,
one of the boats carrying 3 researchers became missing.
Another rubber boat from the Sejong base set out to search for them. During its search,
the weather got worsened; after a radio communication, the boat lost touch with the base.
Five people were on board on the second boat. So 8 people remain missing so far. We
will report the details again as they come in.

News Anchor: It is reported that whole sale/retail sales, which are a sensory economic
index, are going downhill for 9 months since a statistical analysis last time. Reporter
Kim Sang-Woo reports.

Although the government announced that the economy had hit the bottom during the 3rd
fiscal term this year, it still seems far from having the thickly frozen sentiment melted.
First of all, the whole sale/retail sales, which are a sensory economic index, have
decreased by 1.2%, shrinking for 9 months since last February.

When we look at business segments, the auto industry has decreased for 8 months with a
15.6% decrease, which is bigger than the previous month.

Hotels and restaurant businesses also recorded –2.2 percent, which was a decrease for 2
months since last August when it had a short increase during a vacation season; the
industry seems to be affected by a direct hit of the recession.

Other service industries including laundry shops, beauty salons, public bath houses, are
going downhill for 6 month by recording –4.5 percent; it’s analyzed that consumers have
been reducing their spending on even basic things.
