‘Schools should prepare students for university, rather than work.’ This is a thought that most schools
should embrace. Life is a step by step process and students should not be introduced in the idea of
working way too soon. Entering a university is a scary new environment and it is vital that students are
prepared for it since it is the middle transition from school to work.

A university, and not a school, is the training ground for the actual work life. It is physically and
emotionally draining where only those tough enough to handle the pressure can finish a degree.
Gradually introducing elementary and high school students in certain kinds of pressures like tight
assignment deadlines, diverse project groupmates, or answering problem-solving scenarios will prepare
them for the challenges they may embark upon in the university.

It is important that students in schools realize the importance of work at a young age. However,
preparing them for work at an early age might result to a negative backlash in the future. For example,
there are kids who had been introduced to music too soon and later ended up losing interest in it.

In conclusion, schools should prepare students for the pressures they might encounter in the university
rather than work. Individuals should take it one step at a time and not jump from start to finish right
away.
