Numerical Overcurrent & Earthfault Genesis Range Lacon) MJT 315 Description Key Features The MIT 816 over current relay combines the power ane! + Tripcircuit supervision is possible through status inputs + Suitable or flashing faults flexibility of microprocessor technology with decades of + Primary fault current values will be available on fault experience in the field of protection. A wide range of recorder menu protection elements and characteristics are supplemented Non Volatile memory for tripingication by advance features such as metering, fault recorder and ‘True RMS measurement Self diagnostics features Storage of five fault records MJT 315 offers inverse time and definite time over current Internal real time records protection for phase fault and earth fault with 26 spontaneous events SE cn, Time stamped spontaneous events for status inputs and output relays configurable pick up and Drop off Eight configurable status inputs Sixconfigurable output relays Sixconfigurable output LED's Each status input has both pick up and drop off time delay Inverted Status inputs possibie communication, Design ‘The MJT Protection unit consists of the following modules within its dimensions. > Input Module The output relays can be configured for self, hand or + Power Supply and Output Relay module electrical reset (Through status inputs) ‘+ Measuring Module & communication interface + Built-in CB Fail protection + FrontFascia Status Input Module The current inputs can be configured for operation with either 1A or 5A ratings. Appropriate connections are required on the relay terminal blacks. The four modules viz. Input, Power supply Measuring and Status input modules are plugged into the Front fascia which houses switches, LEDs and LCD display for the human machine interface. All PCB s are wel protected from one another and from external environment with best shielding for better electromagnetic compatibility and housed in the enclosed chassis, which iswithdrawable from the outercase. ‘The draw-out case is provided with the required CT shorting contacts. Applications * Distribution feeders + Transmission ines + ACmachines Capacitor banks Transformers, Numerical Overcurrent & Earthfault Protection - MJT315 + Status input can be configured to operate O/P contacts or to block any protection functions ‘+ Any output relay can be configured from any protection function LED's can be set for selforhand reset ‘One fixed output relay for protection healthy One fixed status input for group change CT Ratio can be set in the relay upto 10,000/1 or 5 ‘Two Group settings Both 1Aor 5A rating (Site selectable) Wide range of current setting Fault data can be retrieved form remote communication Data communication using IEC-60870-5-103 protocol RS 485 communication electrical terminals at rear The Outputs can be directly driven from remote communication + Noexternal resistor required for status inputs + LowAC & DC Burden Metering + Status of digital (Status) input and digital output (relays) ‘canbe knows by general Interrogation + Currents iy,ID,le& I, ty, l3,le User Interface + Readable human machine interface with Backlit LCD display + Configurable LED indications. + Push buttons for viewinglediting the setting end resetting Wiring Diagram MIT 315 8 Prion © a RY B as ocAuMEoRY SPAY ciestios 2 » wef colt MEan “MEL 9Y Poe vile 4 Ep se & Iocan eam ea i" Ke St out fo ve sem vel BSL owe ef TSE were ed TST, PR PR [2 FE smears la Sve HMM EE RR RAR RTS hE Typical Wiring Diagram for MJT315 Technical Information CT Input Rating IAA Frequency S0Hz Auxiliary supply Output contacts The relay has the following output contacts Nominal Var ‘Operating Range Vi 30,48, 110VDC —24Vto 135v0C 110,220v0c 480280 0C Digital (status) input ‘sameas Auxiliary DC supply Protection Settings Phase Fault 0.054in%02.5xIn £40.01 In Earth Feult 0.06xInto 2.5xin 0.01 In Highset Prase Fault Highset] Earth Fault Highset2 Phase Fault Highset2 Earth Fault PIF Time Multiplier EJF Time Multiplier PIEDTL E/EDTL PIF Highset1 OTL EJF Highset] OTL Highset2 Reset Time O.5xIn to 30xIn A.0.5 In, off 0.5xin to 30xln AO.S In, off 0.5xInto30xin A0.5 In, off 0.5xln to 30xIn A0.5 In, off 0.025 to 1.640.001 0.025101.6.40.001 (0 Secs to 20 Secs A0.01 Secs (0 Secs o 20 Secs A 0.01 Secs (0 Secs to 20 Secs A 0.01 Secs (0 Sees to 20 Secs A 0.01 Secs Shaped Instantaneous Oto 60 Secs A 1 sec Status input pickup delay0 to 999.99 sec A.0.01sec or (Oto 999.99min A.0.01 min Status input Drop off Delay 0 to 999.99 sec A 0.01 sec or ‘00.99.99 min A.0.01 min Inverse Characteristics Operating time can be calculated as follows: + Protection Healthy I N/Cfixed + Change overcontact 1 No(Configurable) + Normally open contact 5 No (Configurable) Contact Ri Carrycontinuously 5KACrmsor DC Make & Carry 20A for 0.2sec Break Resistive 75W DC Inductive 50W DC @UREAOmsec with a maximum of 300¥ DC Indication Green LED Protection healthy Orange LED Starter Red LED Trp Orange LED 4 Nos (Configurable) Red LED 2 Nos (Configurable) 16x2 Alphanumeric LCD display for settings, readings and fault data Burden ACCurrent Input SARating =0.4VA LARating =0.05VA Auxiliary input Quiescent (typical) Sw (DC) 12VA(AC) Environmental Temperature 1eC 60068-2-1/2 Operating range “10°C to +85°C Storage range -25°Cto=70°C Humidity 1EC60068-2-3 56 days at 40°C and 93%RH Transient Overvoltage 1EC 60255-5 SKY, 1.2/50us, 0.5) between all terminals and earth or between any two terminals without damage or flashover Insulation TEC 60255-5 2.0 KVems for 1 min between all terminals ang earth 2.0 KVrms for 1 min between independent circuits 1.0 KVrms for 1 min across normally open contacts frequency Disturbance IEC 60255-22-1 Class Il 2.5 KV Common (Longitudinal) mode LOKVSeries (Transverse) mode Electrostatic Discharge KV Contact Discharge BKV Air Discharge Radio Frequency InterferencelEC 60255-22-3 Class II 20MHzto 1000 MHZ, 1Ovim 1EC60255.22-2 Class Il Fast Transient KV, 5/50ns, 2.5kHzrepetitive IEC 60255:22-4 Class Il Vibration (Sinusoidal) 1EC 60255-21-1 Class!
