It is my pleasure to write in enthusiastic support of Taryn Ketels in her credentialing project in the Emergency Department at UCHealth. Taryn and I have worked together in the UCHealth ED for three years where we have grown close personally and professionally. We have worked on many projects and been a part of multiple committees with one another. Through this, I have gotten to know Taryn very well over the past three years. I thus feel well-qualified to comment on her qualifications and performance in the Emergency Department. Taryn is a role model in the department and an asset to the hospital at large. She is passionate about providing patient centered, evidence-based care. Taryn is adaptable to the ever- changing ED environment and will continually make improvements to improve her patients’ lives. Taryn is receptive to feedback and makes changes accordingly. Taryn is dedicated to teaching; whether that be a fellow nurse, an ED tech, or an undergraduate student in the department, she is always willing to help and ensure everyone is on the same page. Taryn is always willing to provide help as needed and can predict issues before they occur. She is not afraid to ask for help but is an independent worker. Taryn is an influencer in that she effortlessly integrates new research protocols into her daily workflow and helps remind and inspire others to ensure that research needs are satisfied. Taryn’s strengths are reflected in the core tenants of nursing: she is humble, nonjudgmental, and ethical. For the reasons delineated above and many more, I highly recommend Taryn for her credentialing project. She is incredibly passionate about HIV and educating our department on the process and giving knowledge so we may know the “why” behind why we do things.
