GMAW Welding

● Gas metal arc welding is a semi-automatic process

● It lends itself well to being fully automated as well

● DCEP-Direct Current Electrode Positive

● Closer with the gun, the hotter it gets

● Further=Colder

● ⅜ inch tip away from material

● Gas set at 25 PSI

● Wire Feed Speed Knob: A faster wire speed will require more amps to keep it melting

● Voltage Control Knob:The thicker the metal, the more required voltage

● Welders use a variety of weave patterns. Some are better for certain metals, and certain

positions

● This is the angle of the gun in relation to the workpiece

● The arc force can be used to counteract

TIG Welding

● Shielding Gases

● Argon most expensive

● Co2 is best for heat

● Helium
● Argon-Helium

● Argon-Co2 (75% Argon 25% Co2)
