Deploying ASI
Deploying the ASI consists of these two major steps and an optional step:
Answer questions.
Transfer questions and answers (optional).
Load data.
Each time you deploy or restart an ASI user session, Change Assistant compares your
package with the Update Center version. If the package on the Update Center supersedes
your package, a Download Applications Fixes window appears asking if you would like to
use the newer version of the package. Instructions are included in the new version to help
you evaluate the nature of the update and whether you should download and deploy the
new package. If you choose to download and deploy the new package, you must redo the
question and answer user session.
You must use a Deployment Server to complete the load portion of the process.
Context-sensitive help is available for each question and answer panel.
6. If you want to run your answers in Summary mode, select the Summary option.
The summary option shows a status bar during for question and answer processing.
Your question and answer session will run in Detail mode if you do not select the
Summary option. The Detail mode shows detailed progress for your question and
answer session.
8. If you selected Summary mode, the question and answer session automatically
starts after you click OK on either the Notes tab or the Batch Information window. If
you selected Detail mode, click Run All from the Change Assistant tool bar.
Note
The following steps and tasks use Summary mode. If you chose Detail mode, you
will see a Change Assistant Deployment Detail window and a Run All button instead
of Start.
You can temporarily exit and then restart this user session at any question and
answer panel. The tool will restart where you stopped.
10. When you complete all of the question and answer panels, a Confirm Load
Configuration window appears that tells you to STOP. Do one of the following:
If you ran the question and answer user session on your deployment server:
Click Next.
Go to Loading Data, Step 9 of the task, To load data.
11. Enter your JD Edwards EnterpriseOne User ID and password and select PLANNER

a later date.
You can change the user session name and description, add notes, and select
summary or detail mode.

Change Assistant tool bar.
The ASI restarts at the point where you left off.
