Space Environment Laboratory (SEL): Solar-terrestrial physics, service and technique
development in the areas of environtental monitoring and forecasting.
Acroromy Laboratory (AL): Theoretical, laboratory, rocket, and satellite studies of
fhe physical and chemical processes controlling the fonosphere and exosphere of the earth and
other planets, and of the dynamics of their interactions with high sititude meteoreloay
ave ition laboratory (WPL): Development of new methods for renote sensing of
fhe, geophysical environment with special emphasis on optical, microwave and’ scoustic. sens ing
systems.
Keather Modifteation Program Office (wPO): Plans and directs ERL weather modification
ivittes, operates ERL aircraft fleet, and research on cumlus cloud modification, on hurricenes
and other tropical problens, and on hurricane modification.
