Natural fibres, which occur in nature---produced by

plants and animals, are a class of hair-like materials

that are continuous filaments or are in discrete
elongated pieces, similar to pieces of thread.

Cotton---Cotton is a soft, fluffy staple fiber that grows

in a boll, or protective capsule, around the seeds of
cotton plants of the genus Gossypium. The fiber is
almost pure cellulose.
Jute---Jute is a long, soft, shiny vegetable fibre that
can be spun into coarse, strong threads. It is produced
from jute plants (Corchorus sp.), family Tiliaceae.
Wool---The term wool is usually restricted to
describing the fibrous protein derived from the
specialized skin cells called follicles in sheep.
Flax---Flax fibers are amongst the oldest fiber crops in
the world. It is obtained from flax plant (Linum
usitatissimum), which belongs to the plant family
Linaceae.
Silk---A fabric made from the fine threads produced
by certain insect larvae (e.g. silkworm).Silk is one of
the strongest natural fibers but loses up to 20% of its
strength when wet. It has a good moisture regain of
11%. Its elasticity is moderate to poor.
Hemp---Hemp is the name of the soft, durable fibre
that is cultivated from plants of the Cannabis genus,
cultivated for commercial use.
Synthetic fibres
Fibre made by chemical processes, unknown in
nature.
Rayon-- Rayon is a manufactured regenerated
cellulose fiber. Because it is produced from naturally
occurring polymers, it is neither a truly synthetic fiber
nor a natural fiber; it is a semi-synthetic or artificial
fiber. Rayon is known by the names viscose rayon and
art silk in the textile industry. It usually has a high
luster quality giving it a bright sheen.
Nylon---Nylon is a generic designation for a family of
synthetic polymers known generically as
polyamides. Its high tenacity fibers are used for
seatbelts, tire cords, ballistic cloth and other uses.
Polyester--- Polyester is a category of polymers.
Acrylic--- Acrylic fibers are synthetic fibers made
from a polymer.Acrylic is lightweight, soft, and warm,
with a wool-like feel.
