IATA MONTHLY STATISTICS

Monthly Statistics Historical (1990-2009 traffic data)


Monthly Statistics Data report (Excel format) containing:

• International traffic, for Total Industry and by Region* (Africa, Asia/Southwest Pacific, Europe, Latin America/Caribbean, Middle
East, North America): Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK), Available Seat Kilometers (ASK), Passenger Load Factor (PLF),
Freight Tonne Kilometers (FTK), Available Freight Tonne Kilometers (AFTK), Freight Load Factor (FLF), Available Tonne
Kilometers (ATK), and growth rates (Year-on-Year and Year-to-Date) for aforementioned variables. Traffic series are presented
for January 1990 till December 2009 (monthly data).
• Domestic traffic, for Total Industry and for the domestic markets Australia, Brazil, People’s Republic of China, Japan, and U.S.A.:
Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK), Available Seat Kilometers (ASK), Passenger Load Factor (PLF), Available Tonne
Kilometers (ATK), and growth rates (Year-on-Year and Year-to-Date) for aforementioned variables. Traffic series are presented
for January 1990 till December 2009 (monthly data), with the exception of Australia (January 2008 onwards), U.S.A. (January
2008 onwards), People’s Republic of China (January 2000 onwards, with exception for ATK series (January 2008 onwards)),
Japan (January 2000 onwards, with exception for ATK series (January 2009 onwards)).
• Total (International + Domestic) traffic for Total Industry and by Region* (Africa, Asia/Southwest Pacific, Europe, Latin
America/Caribbean, Middle East, North America) :Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK), Available Seat Kilometers (ASK),
Passenger Load Factor (PLF), Freight Tonne Kilometers (FTK), Available Freight Tonne Kilometers (AFTK), Freight Load Factor
(FLF), Available Tonne Kilometers (ATK), and growth rates (Year-on-Year and Year-to-Date) for aforementioned variables. Traffic
series are presented for January 1990 till December 2009 (monthly data).
• International, Domestic and Total traffic series are presented as-is, as well as seasonally adjusted.

*Regional data reflect the combined performance of the airlines registered in the respective region.

series are presented for January 2010 and onwards (monthly data).

• Individual airline variables for more than 130 carriers, including Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK), Available Seat Kilometers
(ASK), Passenger Load Factor (PLF), Freight Tonne Kilometers (FTK), and Available Tonne Kilometers (ATK), and growth rates
for aforementioned variables. Traffic series are presented both for both monthly volumes, with Year-on-Year-growth rates, as well
cumulative volumes, with Year-to-Date growth rates. Traffic series are presented for January 2010 and onwards (monthly data),
subject to the availability of airline reported data.
• NEW: Passenger numbers by Economy class, Passenger numbers by Business class, RPK per Economy class, RPK per
Business class, Freight Tons

• Data refer to aggregate segment-based traffic and covers industry-wide totals for scheduled air traffic. It covers traffic of all
airlines, including low-costs, dedicated cargo airlines, regional airlines, non-IATA members, etc.
• Data are based on direct airline reporting complemented by IATA estimates.
