pyramid with three main parts named “Tri Guna Makanan” or three kinds of food with three different
usages.

1. Power Nutrient
Power nutrient has largest portion. This nutrient is used as power source which will give power
to our body in doing many daily activities. The main power nutrient is carbohydrate.
Carbohydrate is available in rice, corn, potatoes, wheat, cassava, sago, and all foods which are
made from the nutrients, like bread, noodle, etc.

2. Regulator nutrient
Regulator nutrient’s portion is less than power nutrient. Regulator nutrient is useful to regulate
body organs to work well. Regulator nutrient consists of vitamin and mineral. These two
nutrients are mostly available in vegetables and fruits.

3. Builder nutrient
The builder nutrient is useful for the formation, growth and maintenance of cells in all organs of
the body. The main builders are vegetable proteins and animal proteins.

At the highest part of the pyramid, there is a little part to describe food that should be fulfiiled in little
portion, like oil, sugar, salt, etc. At the lowest part, there is water as nutrient with the largest portion.
Water need for the body is the largest need that should be fulfilled. We can fulfill the need of water by
drinking water or consuming fruits.
