for strategic sectors and advancement of fundamental knowledge. CSIR is recognized as the largest publicly funded R&D organization having linkages to
academia, R&D organizations and Industry.

Admission procedure:
Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) provides teaching and research facilities to eligible candidates in CSIR laboratories. The candidates
applying for CSIR labs are guided by AcSIR to report to respective Guides in concerned labs before admission. After successful completion of comprehensive
examination PhD admission is confirmed for the applicant. The registration will be valid for specified duration of the programme.

DRDO
Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) constituted in 1958 currently has a network of more than 50 central laboratories which are deeply
engaged in developing defence technologies covering various disciplines, like aeronautics, armaments, electronics, combat vehicles, engineering systems,
instrumentation, missiles, advanced computing and simulation, special materials, naval systems, life sciences, transportation systems, information systems and
agriculture.

Admission procedure:
Personal interview /interaction of the concerned candidate as well as identification of suitable guides for eligible candidates will be conducted by Defence
Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), DRDO. The registration of selected candidates will be done as per practice being followed by concerned labs. The
registration will be valid for specified duration of the programme.

DAE
The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) was constituted on August 3, 1954 under the direct charge of the Prime Minister through a Presidential Order. DAE
has been engaged in the development of nuclear power technology, applications of radiation technologies in the fields of agriculture, medicine, industry and
basic research. It also supports eight institutes of international repute engaged in research in basic sciences, astronomy, astrophysics, cancer research and
education. DAE comprises five research centers, three industrial organizations, five public sector undertakings and three service organizations.

Admission procedure:
Local Academic Standing Committee of concerned research centre under DAE will conduct personal interview and or/test to evaluate the suitability of
candidate prior to admission in the PhD programme under the subject scheme. The registration of selected candidates be done as per practice being followed
by concerned research centre. A pre–PhD programme is mandatory for a stipulated period of time in concurrence with Head of the research centre. The

Department of Space (DoS) constituted in 1972 has the primary responsibility of promoting development of space science & technology towards achieving
self-reliance and for space applications facilitating all-round development of the nation. It is committed to carry out research and development in satellite and
launch vehicle technology. DoS aims to promote the development and application of space science and technology for the socio-economic benefit of the
country.

Admission procedure:
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), an autonomous institute under DoS, offers doctoral and postdoctoral programmes. After personal
interaction, if a candidate is found to be eligible for pursuing PhD under the subject scheme, the candidate is supposed to register for coursework at IIST
