Mark Pears Gps Concept For Lost Baggage
Mark Pears Gps Concept For Lost Baggage
24.1 million bags had been lost and mishandled last couple of years.
For everyone who is being critical of this, please remember that most airports in the US
were designed for convenience and aesthetics. After all, 20+ years ago, security was an
afterthought. Unfortunately, we live in a different world now, where security (including
theft and other harm) is part of our lives.
Here’s what the government say about “lost” luggage:
If your bags are delayed, lost or damaged on a domestic trip, the airline can invoke
a ceiling of $3,300 per passenger on the amount of money they’ll pay you. (This
limit is $3,000 When your luggage and its contents are worth more than the
liability limit, you may want to purchase “excess valuation,” if available, from the
airline as you check in. or better yet Purchase my GPS TRACKING and never
worry again.
So the airlines don’t have much incentive to safeguard your luggage, even though
they now charge a fee to transport it. The government’s luggage rules are wishy-
washy. Airport security, when it comes to checked luggage claims, is at best porous.
(And who is responsible for the bag between the plane and the carousel, anyway?)
No wonder this happened. Problem Solved
As several posters said, many bags look the same. A few years ago, I was
missing a bag. Apparently, someone else took it home, then realized their mistake,
called the airline and delivered it back to the airport. I was fortunate that the person
was honest. I wonder how many "lost" bags were really lost that way!
The only airports in which I have been asked to show my luggage check ticket to
claim my bags have been in less-developed countries!
1) All baggage claim facilities should be sterile and secured areas. Part of the problem is at some
airports, anyone can enter the baggage claim area. Even though there is supposed to security
checking bags against claim tickets, there are still places where this is non-existent.
2) I have seen some of the best and WORST examples of security in the baggage claim in foreign
countries. Same as in the US. Just because you are in a foreign airport does not mean shoddy
security.
3) Unfortunately, since no regulators view the baggage claim area as a security risk, I doubt that any
capital investments will be made to securing this area, even though they should

Improve the EDC Fan experience
When thousands of EDC fans make their way to the Las Vegas Speedway, things can often times get
crowded and very stressful. By offering EDC fans an easy-to-use Estimote solution, you allow them to plan
their next visit to the speedway from there home and get the exact route all the way to their seat inside the
arena. They can get an overview of the route and see all points of interest along the way such as
merchandise stalls, food and drink vendors and ticket check points. By allowing them to plan ahead, you
remove some of the stress involved in visiting a busy EDC Event and make it more likely that they will return
and tell others about the great experience.
By combining Estimote with Fan positioning technology, you can also gain great insights on how fans move
around the EDC Event and hereby ensure that you place merchandise stalls and food and drink vendors in
the most optimal places. You might find out that loads of fans gather in front of one food outlet and
struggle to get back to their seat in time for the Next DJ show, while another food truck is practically
deserted. By using your Estimote solution as more than just a navigation aid, you can optimize EDC the
entire layout of the arena and improve the overall fan experience.
There is a range of options when it comes to estimote positioning technology. Whether beacons, Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth or light positioning is right for your venue, depends on the structure and layout of EDC, layout
and existing technology. We are happy to advise you on which positioning technology to choose.
Boost merchandise, food and beverage sales VIP
Fans use their smartphones all the way through games so why not take advantage of this and make sure
you communicate directly with them whilst they are at the EDC Event arena?
Estimote also gives you the option to do just that and to engage directly with fans before, during and after
the Event. You can send them in app food and drinks offers and notify them about special deals at the
merchandise outlets.
As an extra service, the system can also be set up to inform them of how they get out of the stadium and if
any exits are closer than others.
Services. This means that the beacon broadcasts its data “into the air”, and that
there’s no specific recipient for these broadcasts. Any BLE device (smartphones for
example) in range can scan for these advertisements and pick them up. No pairing or
establishing a connection is required.
Also, there’s no limit to how many scanners can pick beacon advertisements up. (Think:
if there’s a person shouting on the street, the entire crowd around them can hear it.)
Both the max range and the distance estimations are further affected by:
The receiver. Each has its own sensitivity, antenna placement and polarization; the
material that the receiver’s case is made of can also impact the signal, etc.
The environment. BLE radio waves can bounce off walls and objects, or get some of its
strength absorbed on the way to the receiver. Water, metal, and glass in particular are known
“troublemakers”—and do note that 80% of the human body consists of water.
Using Estimote beacons to create is no different: there needs to be some app that’s
programmed to use Bluetooth, and to take its actions—be it navigating you around an
Electric daisy carnival, finding a friends at the event, or rewarding your fans for continuous
visits to your favorite EDC shop.
Use a ready-made app or system for home automation, indoor maps and navigation, asset
tracking, loyalty rewards for presence in specific places in the Las Vegas speedway, etc. At
Estimote, we believe that the future will be full of ready-made software that you can simply
“install” in your physical space: your home, your office, your warehouse or your Event.
For example, an event like live nation EDC would be a Great Platform to show authorities
this could allow the user to share their indoor position with friends. It would start Indoor Location
updates inside a Foreground Service, with a notification to friends to arrange a meeting place.
Although they must show a notification to inform the user that the app is running. This
however is a fantastic, user-friendly solution for all kinds of “session” activities.
Overview of the key APIs
Proximity is about your apps detecting when they're near areas of interest, and tag it—for
example, “live nation entrance.” From now on, Bluetooth-enabled devices such as iOS
and Android smartphones can detect when they’re in the live natation entrance. You can
also attach some extra data to your beacons—for example, “venue-live nation gate 3
entrance = 13”.
LTE Beacon apps are for indoor and outdoor tracking of Employees and DJs. Or
Security & Police The LTE Beacon can detect nearby assets via Bluetooth, locate itself
outdoors via GPS, and report directly to Estimote Cloud.
Indoor Location is about replicating the GPS technology, but indoors, where there’s no
satellite coverage. Put up a whole bunch of Location Beacons throughout the space, and
create a floor plan. From now on, your app has the ownership to gain access to precise
indoor (x,y) coordinates of the smartphone.
Robotics is our version of Indoor TV, which enables indoor positioning for AGVs,
Automated Guided Vehicles … more commonly known as self-driving robots. 😉
Take control of any nearby EDC live nation TVS & displays. Imagine walking up to
an EDC information screen, and having your Fans info pop up, along with a map to the
destination.
