In relation to the continuing innovativeness of the division in assuring quality in the implementation of the Project Seedling through Technical Assistance for Reinforcement Geared towards Empowering Teachers and School Heads (TARGETS), the office through the Schools Governance Operations Division (SGOD) joins the 2019 Search for the Most Sustainable and Eco- friendly Schools in both public and private elementary and secondary schools. 2. This is in cognizance with the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources (DENR) which promotes the establishment and/or strengthening of sustainable and eco-friendly schools in the country that had been enshrined as a priority to the Post ASEAN Environment Year 2015 Celebration with the theme “Empowering the Youth for a Green ASEAN Community”, and likewise in the Road Map for the Implementation of Republic Act No. 9512 also knows as the national Environmental Awareness and Education Act Of 2008 under the National Environmental Education Action Plan for Sustainable Development (2009-2018) 3. To succeed in this endeavor, the division is set to conduct a Planning Conference with the Selected Eco-friendly Validators on March 13, 2019 at DepEd Leyte Gymnasium. The conference will start at exactly 8:00AM. 4, The activity aims to: * present the criteria for 2019 Search for the Most Sustainable and Eco-friendly Schools; * finalize the validation schedules of the team; and * discuss chatlenges/issues/concer during the 2017 validation 5.
