INTRODUCTION

A.) Working Description about the Bible:


- is the “Word of God;”
(Everything written in the Bible by
His Sacred Writers)
- for “us mankind;” (particularly written
for us humankind)
- and for “our salvation.” (intended for all of us
to be guided in our journey thru this life)
B.) Significance of the Bible:
- the “Word of God – gives inspiration, guidance, & assurance
of God’s love for us.
C.) Major Divisions of the Bible:
1. Old Testament - talks about “God’s promise of redemption”
after the fall of Adam & Eve (representing
humankind)
-Adam = representing the Male species)
-Eve = representing the Female species)
2. New Testament - talks about the “fulfillment of God’s promise”
thru Jesus, the Christ.
The word “Testament” – it means, “covenant or agreement” between God and
His people.

1. Alexandrian Canon
2. Jewish Canon

1.c. Leviticus - talks about “worship, sacrifices, offerings”

& exhortations of Moses.
