To Whom It May Concern,

It is my pleasure to recommend Madison Slater for student teaching. I enjoyed having Madison in my
Diagnostic Teaching of Reading course. The course provides teacher candidates with significant field
experience, strategically designed to allow for them to successfully target and impact reading growth for K-2
students.

Madison was continually engaged and positive throughout the course. She would follow up and check for
understanding as she planned and implemented lessons to meet her student’s needs. She was clearly dedicated
to finding different ways to engage and relate to her student, and as a result, he grew several reading levels
during their time together.

She is well prepared for student teaching. Your faculty and staff will appreciate her positive, warm presence and
her willingness to learn, grow, and do the best she can for students. Please feel free to contact me with
questions.

Sincerely,

Cerissa Stevenson, Ph.D.
